View IRS stimulus checks realistically
This is just one of our articles referencing the financial crisis, crash of the housing market, subprime, and more:
The IRS announced today that their website, irs.gov, will publish the dates and schedule for release of economic stimulus checks, also called bailout checks, or tax refunds. If you have direct deposit and file before April 15th you will have priority over paper filers. For those will adjustable rate mortgages, near foreclosure, or already in foreclosure the stimulus refund should be considered carefully. Be realistic. If paying the utilities will keep the lights on for one more month while denying the inevitable, perhaps you should consider a different approach.
On the other hand, if you did not qualify for the tax exemption of a 1099 the payment might offset what you owe. For many, the check will help with first, last, and a deposit on an apartment if you view your mortgage company and mortgage broker as opportunists that knowingly bankrupted you and your family, while taking your money like common thieves without a concience.
(By mid-day on Monday, the Internal Revenue Service told taxpayers when to expect those rebate checks and it’s going to be based on Social Security numbers – not when you file that return.)
